Two-tone engraved engagement rings put the engraving on a yellow gold band and the diamond in a white gold head. The pattern gets the warm glow that shows engraving best, while the white prongs disappear against a colorless lab-grown stone so the diamond reads whiter and larger. It is the pairing to choose when you cannot decide between yellow and white, or when the wedding band you have in mind is one color and the ring you love is the other.
Five engraved designs in two-tone gold
Every design in our engraved collection is made in 14k and 18k two-tone gold. The Engraved Cathedral ($2,200) pairs scroll engraving along the shoulders with a raised cathedral head; the Heirloom Cathedral ($2,050) adds a detailed gallery under the stone; the Vintage Inspired band ($2,400) carries our most detailed engraving; the Engraved Tulip ($2,250) lifts the diamond in petal-shaped prongs above an engraved band; and the Engraved Three Stone ($1,850) frames the center stone with two side stones. The cathedral and vintage designs come in round, oval, emerald, cushion, radiant, pear, marquise, moval and Dutch marquise; the tulip is cut for oval, marquise and moval, and the three stone for oval and marquise. Prices are the 14k setting before the diamond; 18k adds $100 to $150.
Wearing a two-tone engraved ring
The engraving is cut on the top three quarters of the band and left plain on the palm side, so a resize never touches the pattern, and the white gold head is rhodium plated like any white gold, so plan on a re-plate every few years to keep it bright. Our two-tone engagement rings guide covers which wedding bands pair with a mixed-metal ring, and the full two-tone collection shows every setting we make this way.
Every ring is made to order around a lab-grown diamond you choose, graded by IGI or GIA, and ships free in the US with 30-day returns, one complimentary resize within 100 days and a lifetime manufacturing warranty.
